First Projet

My initial idea for this project is to translate analog pictures into digital pictures.
For this, analog pictures will be real-life pictures (for starting out, I will use desert pictures from a recent trip in Arizona) and digital pictures will be inspired from NES 8 bits and Super NES 16 bits graphics. I'll try to use the same pixel resolution and color palettes from these systems, just to see if it's possible to create a drawing that stimulate the imagination with such limited means. I also want to experiment with grid systems.

EXAMPLES OF ANALOG

My usual way of doing things...

Hello

I first joined this class for personal interest and out of curiosity. I'm really interested in technology and digital graphics, and I just want to learn everything there is to learn about this.

Usually, I'm a traditional artist who mostly paint and draw. I usually like to draw and paint deserts and out-of-this world landscapes. I also enjoy drawing animals such as insects and jellyfishes.

Here are some examples of what I usually do.

I usually get my inspiration from pictures of landscapes and nature. I also get inspired by music (my musical tastes range from NIN and Slipknot to Pink Floyd), movies (Lost Highway) and album cover art (especially those done by Storm Thorgerson). I also enjoy video games, especially those that create their own special ambiance through a mix of graphics, music and storyline context (Killer 7). Finally, I'm inspired by poetry, especially by Jim Morrison (The American Night).

For this course, I'd like to get out of my comfort zone and try styles I never tried before. I want to attempt to get my inspiration from unusual sources that I'm not used to, and not be afraid to make a ugly drawing.
